JFG Communications wins tender for Transport Planning Society

Virtual public affairs agency JFG Communications has been chosen, as part of a competitive tender, to deliver the Transport Planning Society’s (TPS’s) third annual Transport Planning Day campaign.

The campaign will focus on the role of transport planners in tackling climate change and creating a sustainable, healthy future.

In contrast to previous years, given the COVID-19 situation, the campaign will run completely online as a ‘virtual campaign’ from now until the autumn, when TPS hopes to hold its usual Parliamentary Reception in October and Transport Planning Day itself on 16 November 2020.  If this is not possible TPS will look to hold these events virtually as well.

The Transport Planning Society is the professional body for transport planners in the UK and is supported by the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Royal Town Planning Institute. TPS’s aim is to facilitate, develop and promote best practice in transport planning and provide a focus for dialogue between all those engaged in the profession.

Back in 2018, JFG Communications helped the Transport Planning Society bring to life its wish to create Transport Planning Day; a day that would raise the profile of transport planning and highlight the vital role transport planners play in society. Campaign coverage grew 50% last year compared to 2018.

Commenting on the win, Jo Field, Founder and Managing Director of JFG Communications said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Transport Planning Society over the past two years, helping to grow the Transport Planning Day campaign.

“We are really excited TPS have chosen us to deliver this year’s campaign and we’re looking forward to taking the campaign to the next level.

“Despite the unusual circumstances we find ourselves in, our client is keen to continue highlighting fantastic transport planning projects and looking to the future on how we can improve transport further.

“We were set up as a virtual agency, so the expertise we’ve gained in working remotely over the past three years will be hugely helpful in informing our client’s campaign.”

Chair of the Transport Planning Society, Stephen Bennett said: “We are really pleased to be working with JFG Comms again on our Transport Planning Day campaign.

“Their expertise in running events such as this, and unparalleled contacts at high levels within government and the transport industry, really add value and increase the profile of our campaign to reach a wider audience.”
