Our Founder & Managing Director, Jo Field, was recently asked to give her expert opinion on diversity in transport, in a debate in Transportation Professional magazine.

The article asked whether efforts to push forward the diversity and inclusion agenda are having a positive effect in transportation.

Jo said yes, the industry is moving in the right direction and we are seeing positive effects, but there is still more work to do. Jo cited examples of companies that are working hard to improve gender balance such as Transport for London and Hull Trains. But she said evidence from Women in Transport members suggests an ongoing need to challenge workplace culture and take a zero tolerance approach to discrimination. The industry needs to continue giving a high profile to gender issues and keep raising the issue of gender inequality in transport with Government and Parliament.
